How to Choose Your Foundation Color

You have to choose a foundation that will blend well with your skin color and undertone so it will look natural and not mask-like.

 Skin shade:

Fair - This is the lightest skin color. You burn very easily. You may have very dark hair and a porcelain complexion.
Light - Your skin is pale, and you burn and then tan. You might be pale in the cooler climates and have a healthy glow in the summer.
Medium Light - color in between light and medium
Medium -Your skin is of average tone, and you usually tan when in the sun
Dark - Your skin tone is darker, possibly of Mediterranean or other ethnic descent, and you tan easily.


 Skin undertone is the underlying color of your skin.

Sallow - skin has yellow or golden shade (asians)
Ruddy - skin has overtones of pink or red (americans, europeans)
Olive - skin appears ashen or green in color (africans, arabians)

To check your skin undertone is to look at the color of the veins on your wrist.

If green - you have yellow undertone
If blue - you have pink undertone
If you have both blue and green - you have an olive undertone
